Jill's Story
Parental was founded in Virginia by Jill Mascelli, a career technologist and mother. Jill's own experience navigating loss, pregnancy, childbirth, and the early months of parenthood revealed a gap in how families access perinatal education and support.
Jill entered pregnancy unsure where to turn for trustworthy guidance. Still feeling underprepared after an urgent c-section and a complex postpartum period, Jill searched for educational resources to help her family make sense of their childbirth story, postpartum recovery, and early parenting challenges. She found a flood of unreliable and ad-driven social media content. High-quality, expert-led education existed, but it was fragmented, difficult to access, and often out of reach for families balancing time, cost, and stress.
Parental was created in 2025 in response to these gaps. Our platform centralizes and adds transparency to expert-led pregnancy and postpartum education, supporting parents wherever they are in their journey, and providing educators and specialists with a better way to share their expertise.
